Cynthia Newman enjoys finding patterns in architecture and nature and translating them into weavings. This is another of her fabulous creations as seen and described in Handwoven Sept/Oct 2020 page 61.  Here is Cynthia’s description of the towels:  “The towels have body and feel wiry when you take them off the loom.  Once you wash them, they get soft and becomes a light to mid-weight towel.  If you press it or line dry it, it gets stiff again if you like a crisp towel.  If you put it in the dryer or scrunch it and use it, it softens.  A very absorbent towel.”

Yarns included are:

• 2-8 oz cones of 2-ply Lyte Hemp Yarn (Please note, this is a substitute for the 2-ply hemp yarn that Cynthia used.  The instructions in Handwoven incorrectly state Tow Hemp Yarn instead of 2-Ply Hemp Yarn.) 
• 3 Skeins- 3-Ply Hemp- Deep Sea
• 2 Skeins- 3-Ply Hemp- Sprout (Substitution for Olive that is currently out of stock with our supplier.  If you want to substitute another color, please let us know!)
• 1 Skein- 3-Ply Hemp- Charcoal

Additionally, you will need:

• 4-shaft loom with 21″ weaving width
• 12 dent reed

Towel Dimensions:

• Finished dimensions:  2 towels, each 19 3/4″ x 29″ (after wet-finishing and hemming)
