These WIF files are for the Best of Both World Towel Kits. Use them in your computer software to start weaving right away!
We have the files available for each of the colorways. With each colorway, will receive 2 WIF files: one for the 4-shaft draft, and one for the 8-shaft draft. Sweetheart Towels
Oh, the heart’s desire! You’re going to fall in LOVE with these towels!
Weave four beautiful heart towels on your 8-shaft loom. The advancing twill pattern provides the heart borders, and then the body of the towel is woven with a fancy twill that creates a “sweet” texture. We have included yarn and instructions to make two pink towels and two red towels using our 10/2 Tubular Spectrum™ mercerized cotton yarns. The finished sizes of the towels are approximately 16” x 24”.

Sweet and Simple Towel Kit
These soft, sustainable towels are quick and easy to weave on your rigid heddle loom. Make yourself a fabulous thick and sustainable towel that is a pleasure to hold onto!
We include instructions for weaving one towel using plain weave, and one towel using a pickup stick. If you don’t want to use a pickup stick, you can weave the towels in plain weave. Scroll down for more information.
6 Ply Hemp Yarn
This 100% Hemp 6 ply yarn is a long line wetspun yarn with great drape and longevity. It comes in a delightful range of vibrant colors. It’s perfect for summer clothing, and items for the home. Available in 100 g skeins. Choose a color from the list below.
Star Spangled Towel Instructions/WIF
Just in time for your summer picnic! These instructions will help you weave four towels that are as American as apple pie on your 8-shaft loom! The overshot pattern is a modified “Star of Bethlehem”. The finished sizes of the towels are approximately 16” x 29”.
You can choose just the instructions or include the WIF files too. For this project, there are two WIF files for towels with two blue stripes and towels with 3 blue stripes. All picks are included in the WIF files.

American Maid™ Unmercerized White Cotton Yarn
Natural white, sustainably produced, unmercerized cotton yarn. Perfect for all your soft handwoven items. Strong enough for warp in any of the sizes, and soft and absorbent for anything you can dream up. It makes wonderful towels, baby blankets, napkins, or cuddly throws.
*As of 2022, the 20/2 size is only available as a NON-American Made yarn. The cotton in the 20/2 yarn currently comes from Egypt. All the other yarn sizes are 100% American Made.
10/2 American Maid™ Naturally Colored Yarn
Sustainably grown, colorful cotton yarn straight from American cotton fields to you! This American made yarn is available in the colors that it is grown in, no dye required! Available in: Brown, Green, Natural White (the color of “white” cotton before it is bleached) and Bleached White. Additionally, Natural White is also available in 6/2, 12/2 and 20/2*. Unmercerized 8/4 Cotton Yarn – Maurice Brassard
This 100% cotton Rug Warp is a timeless favorite for rag rugs, Repp weave rugs, and placemats. It is a wonderfully stable warp yarn because of its tight twist and low elasticity. This yarn comes in a wide range of colors for you to match to your fabric strips or create a rainbow across the warp. Available on 8 oz tubes with approximately 840 yards per tube (1680 yards per pound).
100% Cotton Slub Yarn
Slub yarn gives your creations more personality and added texture. Perfect for dishtowels, baby blankets and anything you want to be soft and absorbent. This slub yarn is the same size as the 8/2 Maurice Brassard Unmercerized yarn and it pairs beautifully with the regular 8/2 yarn! Available on 8 oz tubes.

Unmercerized 8/2 Cotton Yarn – Maurice Brassard
8/2 Unmercerized yarns weave into lovely hand and dishtowels, soft and cozy blankets for your new nephew or niece, or many other soft and absorbent uses. All colors are available on 8 oz tubes and 1.5 oz mini cones, approximately 3,360 yards per pound (1680 yards on an 8 oz tube, and approximately 320 yards on a 1.5 oz mini cone). Sett these yarns at 16 epi for lace weaves, 18-20 for plain weave, and 20-24 for twill weave structures. You can also weave with these yarns on your rigid heddle loom by doubling the yarn and using a 10 dent reed.
3 Ply Hemp Yarn
This 100% Hemp 3 ply yarn is a long line wetspun yarn with great drape and longevity. It comes in a wonderful range of vibrant colors. It’s perfect for delicate lace, summer clothing, and items for the home. Available in 50 g skeins. Choose a color from the swatches below.

Taking our inspiration from our favorite artists (Anni Albers, Ansel Adams, Piet Mondrian, Claude Monet, and Pierre-August Renoir) we designed this fun towel kit for 4 generous, towels with 3 colors of 10/2 Tubular Spectrum™ yarn. And you can choose your favorite colorway. Woven in 2 blocks to create a visually complex towel that is fun and easy to weave. Finished towels are approximately 18″ x 28″. Kit includes instructions for both 4 and 8-shaft looms.
