Our American Maid™ cotton line of yarns continues to grow. This collection is the white color that grows in the field. No dye, no bleach, just the soft, off white color of Acala cotton. All of these yarns are made from cotton grown here in the American west, and spun in the US. We are doing our part to help the US textile industry remain here.
These American Maid™ yarns are our responsibility from the field to your door. We purchase the cotton lint from farmers who use modern sustainable farming practices. The white cotton is Cleaner Cotton™. This is the trademark name for cotton grown by farmers enrolled in the Sustainable Cotton Project (www.sustainablecottonproject.org). Grown without using the 13 most toxic chemicals in conventional cotton production in California, utilizing non-genetically modified seed, and biologically based integrated pest management practices. It is a cost effective and sustainable growing system that is a model for how to improve cotton growing practices around the world.
You will love the soft hand of these yarns as you create your handwoven treasures. They pair beautifully with our naturally colored cottons as well.

I love this yarn! My latest project is a baby blanket and it washes up so soft, it’s perfect. I also have some of the natural green which I used, along with the natural white, for towels. Again, so soft and absorbent. I have only used the 8/2 but I think I will be experimenting with some of the other weights in the near future.

Lovely soft yarn and very affordable! The natural white is whiter and not as yellow as in this photo. I also like brown and green colors. I’ve mostly used 10/2 and it’s a great size for towels.
