These Curved Back Wool Hand Cards made by Clemes and Clemes utilize a turned maple handle tenoned into an alder back. This combination of woods puts the bulk of the weight in the palm of the user’s hand, making these cards as ergonomic as possible. The smooth, round handle provides for a comfortable grip in small or large hands. The regular size has a 7.5” x 4.5” carding pad and the student version has a 5.5″ x 4.5″ carding pad. Both have 72 teeth per inch set in a vulcanized canvas foundation.

The regular size has a 7.5” x 4.5” carding pad.
The smaller student version of our most popular style of hand carders are lighter and easier to use and store than their standard size counterparts. However, they do make smaller rolags since their carding area is 5” x 4.5”, approximately one third smaller than the regular size.
