Schacht has built a lifetime of service into their hand carders. They have a small lip milled into the rear edge of the paddle to protect the card clothing from becoming worn and the handles have been precisely tenoned into the paddles for superior strength.  We stock these cotton carders with curved paddles. With 208 points per square inch, the Schacht Cotton cards are excellent for cotton and other short fibers.

Clemes and Clemes are masters of spinning tools.  Their Curved Back Cards, great for cotton, utilize a turned maple handle tenoned into an alder back. This combination of woods puts the bulk of the weight in the palm of the user’s hand, making these cards as ergonomic as possible. The smooth, round handle provides for a comfortable grip in small or large hands. The 10” x 3.5” carding pad has 120 teeth per inch set in a vulcanized canvas foundation.
