Peachfuzz! Pantone Color of 2024! – Blog Post

Snowballs #2 Peachfuzz

Pantone has released their color of the year for 2024!  This coming year's selection is a gentle color from Pantone, called Peach Fuzz.  Pantone number 13-1023 Peach Fuzz captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others.

As they say on their website: "Pantone’s Peach Fuzz is a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul."

We love that 2024 will enrich our minds, bodies, and souls.  Sounds like the reason that many of us weave, spin, knit, crochet, dye, and pursue our fiber arts!

The draft shown here uses our Tubular Spectrum™ yarns in Tangerine, 5 Yellow Red and Bleached White.  This draft is adapted from the Snowballs Draft in Margarite Porter Davison's A Handweaver's Pattern Book page181.  We have a printable version of this draft if you would like to print it out.  Click here.

Peach Fuzz!

This year's color choice is soft and soothing.  The orange color with hints of pink is available in lots of yarns that we stock. And the best part of weaving is that we get to create the colors by the interaction of both warp and weft! No woven fabric has to be just one color... all the subtle over and undertones make handwoven fabrics items to treasure.

Those of us who love soft colors have a whole year to celebrate, and those of us who are challenged by orange hues have another wonderful color challenge this coming year!  We hope that 2024 will be another year full of color adventures!

How will we all combine Tangerine and Peach with other soft yarns like sky blue, teal, rose, cranberry, and sangria in our weavings?  What a delight way to start a new year pondering what these soothing color choices will inspire us to create in 2024!

Showcase Peachy, Fuzzy yarns

As a beginning for our imaginations, we would like to showcase the yarns that we have in stock that evoke this new color.

Please be aware that these are intended as suggestions, NOT definitive choices.  As we all know, colors on the cones look very different from the colors in the fabric. That is part of the magic of weaving, and as we gain experience with color, we learn how to exploit those shifts to get the fabric how we want it.  Please be aware that the colors on your monitor may differ from the real colors, and colors do vary by dye lot.  If you want to see the colors firsthand, we do offer a wide selection of sample cards.

If you are looking to add the colors to your weaving software, we have the hex colors and RGB numbers available for our Tubular Spectrum Yarns here. And for the Maurice Brassard colors here.
