Make some waves with these placemats woven on 8-shafts in Turned Taquete (aka Jin). This kit features 5 colors of 5/2 Tubular Spectrum mercerized cotton yarn. The kit includes warp and weft for 2 placemats in one colorway: there are 3 colorways to choose from. Changing the weft color subtly changes the appearance of the warp colors. Mix and match the colorways to make your own placemat set combinations! This is a kit from DJE Handwovens and comes with a pre-wound warp.
Description:
- 2 Placemats woven in Turned Taquete (aka Jin). Placemats are approximately 12″ x 17″ when finished.
- Pre-wound warp in 5/2 Tubular Spectrum™ mercerized cotton yarn ready to go on your loom.
- Warp length is 76 inches allowing for 19.5 inches woven length per placemat (includes shrinkage allowance), 10 inches tie-on allowance and 20 inches thrum waste.
- 16 EPI, 16 PPI
- 13.25″ wide in the reed.
Equipment Needed:
- 8 shaft floor or table loom with minimum 20 inches weaving width
- 8 dent reed or reed to get to 16 EPI.
- 1 shuttle/bobbin
Kit includes:
- Pre-wound warp chain ready to go on your loom (includes 20″ loom waste for take up and tie-on).
- Enough weft in one colorway to make 2 placemats.
