Both of these hand carders are from Clemes and Clemes. Made from Alder Wood with Maple Wood handles.
- The carding pad has 72 teeth per inch set in a vulcanized canvas foundation. This tooth spacing is versatile enough to handle most wool breeds and blends.
- The Curved Back Wool Hand Cards utilize a turned maple handle tenoned into an alder back. This combination of woods puts the bulk of the weight in the palm of the user’s hand, making these cards as ergonomic as possible. The smooth, round handle provides for a comfortable grip in small or large hands. These are the go-to hand cards for most beginning spinners, teachers, and historical demonstrators.
- Sold as a pair.
The regular size has a 7.5” x 4.5” carding pad.
The smaller student version of our most popular style of hand carders are lighter and easier to use and store than their standard size counterparts. However, they do make smaller rolags since their carding area is 5” x 4.5”, approximately one third smaller than the regular size.
