Combining merino wool and mercerized cotton yarns in both warp and weft and utilizing the unique shrinking and felting properties of each yarn will produce a fabric that has a bumpy 3-dimensional texture.

Project Description:

  • 2 scarves (approximately 8” x 59” after washing)
  • Deflected Double weave using merino wool and 10/2 mercerized cotton yarn
  • 15 epi for wool, 30 epi for cotton
  • 4 or 8 harness
  • 12.5” wide in reed

Equipment needed:

  • 4 or 8 shaft loom with 13” weaving width
  • 2 shuttles, 5 bobbins
  • 15 dent reed
  • Light weight fishing line for selvages
