Here are the instructions to make Warm and Woolly Shawlettes using GreenLine wool yarn.  The instructions show you how to weave these charming Shawlettes to keep the chill off and to brighten up your day.  They have a buttonhole that you create while you are weaving the shawlette.  You can choose the pattern for 1 shawlette woven on a rigid heddle loom, or two shawlettes woven on either a rigid heddle or shaft loom.  You can weave these cozy neck warmers on your Loom in a weekend.

Listen to the Loon! Difficulty level is Beginner (One fish). This project is designed for use on either rigid heddle loom or shaft looms.

Project Description:

  • 14” x 26” Shawlettes with 8” fringe on both ends.
  • 8 epi, 8 ppi
  • Woven in plain weave
  • Rigid Heddle Loom
  • 15” wide in reed, 3-yard warp

Equipment needed:

  • Rigid Heddle Loom with at least 15″ weaving width
  • 1 shuttle
  • 8 dent reed
  • 1″- 1.5″ buttons to coordinate with your color choices

Total Yarn needed:

  • To make one Shawlette: Three 50g skeins of GreenLine Wool Yarn.  You need 2 skeins of one color and 1 skein of one other color for a total of 3 skeins.  The photo shows Cinnamon as the main color and Butterscotch as the accent.
  • To make two Shawlettes:  Five 50g skeins of GreenLine Wool Yarn.  You need 3 skeins of one color and 1 skein of two other colors for a total of 5 skeins.  The photo shows Cinnamon as the main color and Butterscotch as the accent.

To Wear the shawlette:

  • fold it diagonally, put the button through the buttonhole and drape around your neck with all the fringe facing forward.
