Meet Violet, the cutest unicorn made entirely from Tubular Spectrum™ mercerized cotton yarns! Once again, Amber has been crocheting and wants to share what she made.
By Amber H.
Get ready to see the cutest unicorn made with Tubular Spectrum™ yarns! Violet stands about 5” tall and is made with 3/2 Tubular Spectrum™ yarn. I used the pattern for William the Unicorn by David Roman AKA ChiquiPork. I decided to make my unicorn using the colors bleach, violet, coral, teal, and butter. Of course, you can use any color combination that makes you happy!
Oh, So Quick!
The project worked up quickly and I was able to complete it over a weekend. I used a 3.25mm crochet hook and one strand of 3/2 Tubular Spectrum™ mercerized cotton yarn. If you wanted a bigger unicorn, you could double up on your yarn. However, with one strand, it made the cutest, tiny unicorn that was as big as my coffee cup.
Make A Mark
It is crucial to have some thread markers when making this pattern, because you will be working in rounds. Keeping track of your rows is very important in this pattern as you do not chain one before beginning the next row.
Eyes Are Adorable!
If you are interested in making cute little critters with Tubular Spectrum™ yarns, I’d highly recommend purchasing safety eyes to make these critters come to life. I used the smallest Plastic Safety eyes with washers available: 6mm/0.24”. We have them available in packages of 10. Click here.
Tubular Spectrum™ Yarn Feels so Nice!
The 3/2 Tubular Spectrum™ mercerized cotton yarn is a touch smaller than I normally had worked with for making other animals, but it was still easy to contain around my fingers and crochet with. The yarn is very smooth and slid on my hook nicely.
Hmmm. I wonder what animal I could make next?
