Yarn Gauge

July 9, 2020

Do you ever wonder what sett you should use for a particular yarn?  Use these handy little Yarn Gauges to figure it out.

Wrap the yarn in either the 25mm (1″) or 12.5mm (1/2″) slot and count the number of wraps. If you used the 25mm (1″) slot, divide the number by 2 to give you an approximate number of ends/inch for plain weave.  If you used the 12.5mm (1/2″) slot, the number of wraps will give you an approximate number of ends per inch for plain weave.  Remember, this is a good starting point, but sampling will give you the best information.

Made from lacquered Silver Beech hardwood. Comes complete with leather loop and wrap/gauge table for knitting yarns.  Click here to see our table of yarn information for various yarns.
